Frequently asked questions
- What is BookADual?
- A free web app for high school and club wrestling coaches to schedule dual meets. Post your open dates, challenge other schools to a dual, tri, or quad, and book confirmed meets on a shared school calendar.
- How much does it cost?
- BookADual is currently available only in Alabama and free for members of the Alabama Wrestling Coaches Association (ALWCA) — no cost to post dates, challenge schools, or book duals.
- How do I get an account?
- Coach accounts are invite-based. Once invited, sign up, pick your high school, verify your email, and log in. Every coach at a school shares one schedule.
- How do open dates work?
- Mark a date open and it shows on every coach's calendar as available; others can challenge you for it in one click. Close a date and challenges for it auto-decline.
- Can I schedule tris and quads?
- Yes — pick dual, tri, or quad on a challenge. Tri/quad build a full round-robin among every school that accepts.
- Can I challenge a coach who isn't on BookADual yet?
- Yes. Add them to your school's Personal Directory (name, school, email, optional phone) and they show up in your challenge picker. They get an email to accept or decline — no account needed — plus an invitation to join. Accepted meets land on your calendar, and outside coaches can take part in duals, tris, and quads.
- Does it handle tournaments?
- Yes — advertise a multi-day tournament to every school's calendar, open with a team limit (auto-closes when full) or invite-only.
- What levels can I specify?
- Varsity, JV, MS, and Girls — set exactly which levels each challenge covers.
- Is there a map of wrestling programs?
- Yes — the School Map shows every Alabama high school. Gold pins are schools already on BookADual; click one to challenge that school right from the map.
- Will I know when a challenge is accepted or changes?
- Yes. BookADual emails you on challenges, accepts, declines, and cancellations, and your in-app calendar updates live the moment another school responds — no refresh needed.
